Project Management

IMS managed the AusAID-funded Indonesia–Australia Development Area Business Directory project, wrote and published an Indonesian-language guidebook for Indonesians visiting Australia, and coordinated several study tours for visiting Indonesian delegations to Australia. More recently, IMS has focused on Australia-based projects, including Indigenous affairs projects.

Australia–Indonesia Development Area Business Directory
IMS designed and implemented, then managed the AIDA Business Directory Project for AusAID from mid-2001 to early-2005. The project’s objectives were to increase trade and investment between Australia and 15 provinces in eastern Indonesia, the Australia–Indonesia Development Area. The first phase of the project was completed in March 2002 with the publication of a hard copy AIDA Business Directory listing 330 firms from eastern Indonesia. The second phase involved the creation of an on-line directory with 700 listed firms. During the second phase, IMS managed and developed an on-line, interactive database of Indonesian firms together with interactive web pages to help match firms in eastern Indonesia with firms in Australia. IMS produced the hardcopy and on-line directories using its in-house expertise in database design, translation, website development, editing, proofreading, publishing, marketing, and project management. Sub-contractors were employed for graphic design and writing database codes.

The Directory was handed over to the International Finance Corporation’s Program for Eastern Indonesia SME Assistance (IFC – PENSA) in February 2005 and can be viewed at www.indo-bizlinks.com/.
